About Me

Hi, I'm Teresa; owner and creator of Fly By Nite Creations. I'm a registered nurse by profession (celebrating 20 years as such), but an Arts and Crafts Gal by choice.
My love for crafting
I love to make things. When I was much younger, my mother taught me how to crochet. I made afghans for everyone I knew! In 1990, I moved to Florida. With our warm climate, we have little use for those warm blankets, so I searched for another craft. Cross-stitching was my next passion. I became quite famous for my cross-stitched baby bibs. Cross-stitching led to even more forms of crafting.
Since most of my creations were meant to be gifts, it was only natural that I turn to baby related items. It seemed everyone I knew was starting a family. Many expectant mothers were delighted to receive my fabric photo albums and baby burp cloths .
When I had my daughter, my favorite gift was a pair of pink beaded socks, handmade by a co-worker. I absolutely loved those socks! I hope others will find that same enjoyment in my beaded socks.
Why Fly By Nite Creations?
As a nurse, I've always worked the night shift. Somehow, it seemed natural that my website include "night" in some form. My handcrafted gifts were always referred to as "creations". A little more brainstorming, and Fly By Nite Creations was born!
Why a Handcrafted Gift?
When searching for a "store bought" gift, one must find a gift to fit. A handcrafted creation can be custom made to fit your needs. Why spend hours searching for that perfect gift when it could be right here? If you can imagine it, I can create it!
Plans for the Future.
Expect to see more items in the near future. I plan to launch a tooth fairy pillow (when a sock under the pillow just won't do), wash cloth puppets, hooded towels and more. There's a whole world of crafts just waiting for me!
In addition to my crafting, I'm also working on my website. I'm the "artist" behind the design and upkeep. In my "free" time, I've been taking classes to learn such things as website development, search engine optimization, and marketing. These classes are offered (absolutely free of charge) by J. Bailey of GNC Web Creations. J. Bailey (we know her as "Cricket") and her awesome crew of specialists provide training to help small business owners reach the top! If this is something you need assistance with too, I urge you to sign up now. Small Business Website Development Training Center
Just recently, I've started blogging about handcrafted gifts. Follow along with me as I go through the experiences of having a internet business.
So, remember.....when a "store bought" gift just won't do.....look for a handcrafted creation.
